Perstorp manufactures epsilon caprolactone monomer using a unique process which utilises a high strength aqueous peracid oxidising agent. The process builds on the Perstorp Group's strength as the world's largest producer of H202 and utilises a high strength, non commercial grade, 87% H2O2, to produce a high strength, high purity aqueous peracetic acid. The peracetic acid is used to oxidise cyclohexanone by a Bayer-Villager reaction. This specialised Perstorp process yields a high purity, highly reactive caprolactone monomer, which is ideally suited for consistent polymer production.
