CAPA for spearhead performance
Capa Premium Grade Options

Perstorp, by combining experience in caprolactone chemistry with flexible production, are able to further enhance the performance of our standard CAPA® products.  These premium CAPA® grades have been designed to upgrade product performance in specific areas to meet market needs. CAPA® premium grades are easily identified by the use of a letter after the CAPA® grade number which signifies the particular performance improvement. Current premium options are listed below (click on the relevant title for more details):

POLYOLS

THERMOPLASTICS

Perstorp currently offer a range of premium grades that are commercially available (click here to view options for Polyols & Thermoplastics). However, it is possible to apply these premium up-grades to most of the standard CAPA® products so if you are interested in a premium product that is not listed as commercially available please use the Design Your CAPA tool to let us know your requirements

POLYOLS - Increased hydrolytic stability

CAPA® polyols generally have very good hydrolysis resistance compared against other polyester polyols. However, for more demanding applications Solvay Caprolactones can further enhance the hydrolysis resistance of CAPA® polyols. The graph below demonstrates the difference in performance between standard and premium versions of a 2000MWt CAPA® diol and also compares performance against that of other polyol types.

These premium grades are designated by a "A" after the CAPA® grade number.

POLYOLS - Reduced fogging

Designed for very demanding PU applications such as interior automotive components where fogging needs to be reduced to the minimum possible.

These premium grades are designated by a "D" after the CAPA® grade number.

POLYOLS - Low viscosity and increased reactivity

With reactivity increased beyond normal fast reacting standard grades and viscosity kept low, these grades offer significant benefits in terms of improved processing and physical properties of the polyurethane produced.

These premium grades are designated by a "P" after the CAPA® grade number.

THERMOPLASTICS - High clarity

This option for CAPA® thermoplastics results in a product that is clear in the molten state, a benefit for some processing techniques.

These premium grades are designated by a "C" after the CAPA® grade number.
