CAPA® polyols are polyesters used as the soft segment component in the production of high performance polyurethanes.

A wide range of CAPA® polyols are available to service the existing diverse range of applications.

List of applications

Adhesives CAPAŽ polyols are used in the manufacture of polyurethane adhesives in all forms, including TPU's, solvent based and aqueous dispersions.  
Cast Elastomers Cast polyurethanes based on CAPA polyols are growing in importance for a diverse range of applications.  
Coatings There are many applications for polyurethane surface coatings ranging from automotive paints to flexible membranes on water slides in theme parks, with equally diverse specification requirements.  
Elastomeric Fibres Spandex fibres made using CAPA polyols go into some specialist products such as swimwear and support clothing.  
Fabric Coating CAPA based coatings are used in varying thicknesses to either form a protective layer or provide the binder for the fibres. In all cases, the flexibility and strength of CAPA based PU coatings are key factors in their choice.  
Foams Elastomeric foam applications for CAPA polyols focus on speciality, high density microcellular systems. Some speciality, high functionality CAPA polyols are used in the manufacture of rigid foams.  
Paints CAPA polyols are used in the manufacture of polyurethane paints and coatings used in highly demanding applications.  
Thermoplastic Polyurethanes (TPU) A major area of use of CAPA products is in the production of thermoplastic polyurethanes, TPU's, where the CAPA soft segment normally represents the major proportion of the finished product.  
Water Based Dispersions CAPA HC grades have been developed for use in speciality water borne polyurethane dispersions. CAPA polyols are used as a soft segment in water borne polyurethane dispersions.
