CAPA® thermoplastics are a range of caprolactone homopolymers that offer a unique combination of properties resulting in hard crystalline, biodegradable polymers that melt at low temperatures (58-60°C) and have very good hot melt adhesive characteristics. The polymers are terminated with primary OH groups and can be utilised for cross-linking in applications such as reactive hot melts adhesives. Solvay also offers premium grades such as the high clarity option (CAPA® 6500C).
In addition to standard thermoplastics grade, Solvay Caprolactones have developed unique caprolactone polymers that can be easily blown into thin films (CAPA® FB grades). These products are available as filled or unfilled versions for applications ranging from laminating adhesives to biodegradable films.
